A new style of travel that begins in the mountain highlands
Shinʼetsu Shizenkyo Nature Park is a mountain highland area overlapping the Johin'etsu Highland National
Park and Myoko Togakushi Renzan National Park. There are a variety of routes, from long rides through the
national parks, kayaking on Chikuma River and Lake Nojiri, and the Shin'etsu Trail, one of Japan's longest
trails. From the picturesque scenery of the highlands to hot springs, culture, and local cuisine, there are many
ways to experience the charms of Shin'etsu Shizenkyo Nature Park.
Shin'etsu Shizenkyo Nature Park is a regional tourism area composed of nine municipalities: Iiyama City, Nakano City, Iizuna Town, Shinano Town, Yamanouchi Town, Kijimadaira Village, Nozawa Onsen Village, and Sakae Village in Nagano Prefecture, plus Myoko City in Niigata Prefecture.
